MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino was hospitalized once again after her recent blood test yielded results that her doctors found alarming.
On Tuesday, August 19, the former actress and TV host posted a photo of herself in a hospital room on Instagram.

She revealed that she initially came in for her second dose of Rituximab, an antibody medication used for cancers and autoimmune diseases.
Her doctor, however, noticed something concerning in her blood panel results and convinced her to undergo further testing, including an ultrasound.
Kris shared that she has become familiar with signs of serious health concerns, saying she knew she should worry when a senior technician was called in.
Despite the worrisome findings, she emphasized that she chose to trust Filipino doctors rather than rely on medicine she was unsure about.
She added that three more specialists explained to her the urgency of her condition and how delaying treatment could endanger her life further.
Kris reflected on her struggles, noting that she is already battling several life-threatening autoimmune diseases.
She also revealed that her younger son, Bimby, has been unable to sleep well since her confinement, while her eldest, Josh, visited her in the hospital.
According to Kris, her doctors discussed why she continues to develop rare and difficult-to-detect health complications, highlighting her allergy to all blood thinners as an added risk.
She was presented with a non-invasive option but declined, choosing instead to put her full trust in her doctors while continuing her immunosuppressant regimen, supplements, and vitamins.
In her post, Kris asked her followers for prayers, not just for her but also for her medical team, nurses, and technicians.
She said that she draws strength from the kindness of others and hopes people will not give up praying for her recovery.
"Please pray for all my doctors, those assisting them in the OR, all the nurses (especially mine) and technicians. Wag sana kayo sumuko sa pagdasal dahil kumukuha ako ng lakas galing sa kabutihang loob ninyo," she said.
