After years of dominating television with their respective tandems, Kathryn Bernardo and James Reid are finally joining forces in a primetime teleserye under Dreamscape Entertainment.
The unexpected pairing marks Kathryn’s much-awaited TV comeback, with James taking on the role of her leading man for the very first time.
Dreamscape confirmed the project on Friday, August 29, by releasing a teaser video of the two stars in a photo shoot.
“Someone is joining her… and it’s none other than James Reid,” the caption announced, sparking excitement among viewers.
The post described the two as a powerhouse tandem, pairing Asia’s Superstar with the country’s Multimedia Prince.
Just a week earlier, Dreamscape had already revealed Kathryn’s return to television, though details about her partner and the show were kept secret.
In a recent interview with Karen Davila, James hinted at the project, saying he would be working with “a very talented actress.”
The revelation that Kathryn is his co-star instantly fueled buzz across social media.
Fans wasted no time coining the love team name “KathReid,” a mash-up that quickly trended online.
For James, the teleserye marks his first major acting comeback since his role in ABS-CBN’s “Till I Met You” in 2016.
He also appeared as a judge in “Idol Philippines” in 2019 and was once cast in the shelved series “Seoulmate” with Nancy of Momoland.
In recent years, James shifted focus to music, releasing his second studio album “Lovescene” in 2022.
Kathryn, on the other hand, is best known for her blockbuster projects with Daniel Padilla, including “Pangako Sa’Yo,” “The House Arrest of Us,” and “2 Good 2 Be True.”
Now, with a fresh partnership on the horizon, “KathReid” is set to rewrite the love team landscape on Philippine television.
