Hailing from Upi, Maguindanao, Nathan is the first-ever alumnus of Pisay-CMC to be accepted to—and graduate from—the prestigious Ivy League university, marking a historic milestone for his school and community.

A former Pisay scholar with a passion for the sciences, Nathan gained international recognition early in his academic career, winning medals in Earth Science and Chemistry competitions abroad. His track record of excellence only grew at Yale, where he stood out not only for his academic performance but also for his contributions to the field of experimental physics.

Nathan was awarded the Howard L. Schultz Prize, a coveted honor given to the student who best exemplifies excellence in experimental physics. Nathan’s receipt of the award underscores his ingenuity, discipline, and deep commitment to scientific discovery.

He is now set to begin a five-year Ph.D. program in high-energy theoretical physics at Columbia University, where he plans to delve into particle physics and quantum theory.

Nathan’s inspiring journey is made even more remarkable by his roots. A proud Teduray and the son of a farmer and a public school teacher, he represents the hopes and dreams of his community in Maguindanao and the broader Mindanao region.

Through hard work, resilience, and unwavering determination, Nathan has become a trailblazer—not just for his alma mater, but for young Filipinos from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds across the country.

The Philippine Science High School System celebrates Nathan as a powerful example of what can be achieved when talent is nurtured with opportunity and support.

Congratulations, Nathan! Your story is a testament to the power of perseverance—and a beacon of hope for the next generation of Filipino scholars.
