Rendon Labador, Rosmar Tan declared persona non grata in Palawan

Rendon Labador and Rosmar Tan Pamulaklakin, vloggers, have been declared persona non grata across Palawan following a heated confrontation incident with a female municipal staff in Coron. This declaration came after they posted a rant about their charity event held there.

This declaration was made by the provincial board during their recent session on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. According to First District Board Member Anton Alvarez, who pushed for the declaration of persona non grata, the behavior exhibited by the vloggers was excessive. Their claim that they were in Coron to help due to its declining tourism was incorrect.

All board members of Palawan believe that the vloggers from Team Malakas are responsible for their inappropriate conduct, which included shouting and pointing fingers at a municipal employee during their visit there last week. Therefore, all board members agreed today, June 18, to approve the resolution declaring them persona non grata across Palawan, in addition to the declaration that will be made by the Sangguniang Bayan of Coron.

Persona non grata, in the context of Philippine governance parlance, refers individuals or groups declared as unwelcome in a particular locality. This designation is merely symbolic and non-binding, and does not legally prohibit a person declared as persona non grata from stepping foot on that locality.

Before this, Sangguniang Bayan member Juan Patricio Reyes had already posted about the proposal to declare the two vloggers persona non grata. He also encouraged the female staff member, identified as "Jho Cayabyab Trinidad," to file a complaint against the two vloggers. However, in a video, he apologized to the social media influencers for the statements he had made in his posts.

"Coronians, eto na po ang resolution na ihahain sa next regular session declaring 'Rosmar' and Rendon Labador persona non-grata in the municipality of Coron."

"Jho Cayabyab Trinidad I suggest mag reklamo sa sa appropriate venues/agencies against these people. I would like to strongly recommend to my fellow legislators, VM Ashian and Mayor Marjo; that we provide Ms. Jho Cayabyab Trinidad with whatever assistance she needs should she decide to file appropriate charges against Labador and 'Rosmar,'” he said.

As a result, Team Malakas, led by Rosmar and Rendon, issued a public apology through a video.

Rendon said.
