PRC releases March 2024 LET results

MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released today, May 24 (Friday) the list of passers in the Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) conducted nationwide in March 2024. This include the passers for Elementary and Secondary levels.

As announced, a total of 71,429 out of 130,744 (54.63%) hurdled the March 2024 LET.

PRC named 20,890 elementary teachers out of 44,764 examinees (46.67) and 50,539 secondary teachers out of 85,980 examinees (58.78%) who successfully passed the exams.

It is further announced that of the 20,890 elementary teacher passers, 17,561 are first timers and 3,329 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 41,787 passers are first timers and 8,752 are repeaters.

The results of examination with respect to thirty-six (36) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations.

Early this month, PRC advised the public of the new schedule of release of LET from May 20 (Monday) to May 24 (Friday). This gives the agency ample time to prepare and validate the results.

The first regular teachers board exam this year was administered on Sunday, March 17, 2024 in at least 36 testing centers nationwide.

About Professional Teachers (LPT)

According to the law, passing the LET administered by PRC is required before one can practice elementary school teaching or secondary school teaching.

An elementary teacher facilitates the initial and developmental learning activities of pupils from kindergarten to Grade 6. Meanwhile, a secondary teacher aims to strengthen and sustain the continuous progressive learning and development of students from 7 to 12.

Under the law, no person shall practice or offer to practice the teaching profession in the Philippines or be appointed as teacher to any position without having previously obtained a valid certificate of registration and a valid professional license from the Commission.

Today, teachers constitute more than half a million, comprising one of the largest occupational groups in the country.

Reminders for passers

On Friday, PRC is expected to announce as well the schedule of registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration. The requirements are the following:

1) Notice of Admission (for identification only);

2) downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal;

3) two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag);

4) two sets of documentary stamps;

5) 1 piece short brown envelope.

Note that the successful examinees should PERSONALLY register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
