As per the information provided on the Fund for the City of New York website, the award is bestowed upon educators who demonstrate exceptional dedication in nurturing their students' abilities to excel. Timbol was among those honored with this recognition.

"These are educators who achieve superb results while inspiring youth to excel in science and mathematics and pursue careers in related fields," they said.

He was commended for his involvement in organizing the exchange program for Filipino-American educators to the Philippines during summers, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the educational environment in both countries.

He is actively engaged in professional groups like the Association of Filipino-American Teachers of America and the Association of Filipino Teachers in Eastern America.

Timbol is no stranger to receiving recognition. In 2022, he was among the 54 New York State public school teachers who were honored with the Governor's Empire State Excellence in Teaching Award.

Timbol, who grew up in the Philippines as one of nine siblings to a homemaker and a mechanic, presently works as a teacher at the High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety. His achievements stand as a source of motivation, not just for his students but also for educators globally, showcasing that dedication, perseverance, and passion can overcome obstacles and result in acknowledgement and outstanding teaching.

He received a cash prize of US$5,000 for this award.

Congratulations!
