MANILA, Philippines – Veteran actress Deborah Sun was hospitalized due to an accident in her final taping day for the ABS-CBN’s series "FPJ's Batang Quiapo" last Monday, January 22.
According to Deborah's manager, Tyrrone Escalante, she was rushed to a hospital. The specific hospital was not disclosed. The actress reportedly suffered swelling on her face and arms.
In the message sent by Deborah to showbiz writer Jun Lalin, she accidentally fell and hit the cement while filming a scene involving gunfire and pursuit. Therefore, in the scene featuring Deborah, it appears that what happened to her was real.
Deborah was immediately taken to the hospital and needed to have casts placed on her arms. The actress reportedly didn't blame anyone for what happened.
ABS-CBN and the director-lead actor, Coco Martin, have shouldered all her expenses. Senator Lito Lapid, who is also part of the cast and directs action scenes in the series, has also sent assistance.
Lorna Tolentino and Joey Marquez were with her at the scene when the accident happened. According to Deborah, what's important to her is that she was able to perform her part and scene properly.
