In a report by ABS-CBN News, the reggae singer died after a truck collided with his motorcycle along the Circumferential Road in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

Kokoi tried to overtake a car in front of him around 1:30 a.m. when he lost control and was run over by a 10-wheeler truck carrying sugarcane.
