MANILA, Philippines – Singer Jovit Baldivino passed away early Friday, December 9. He was 29.
Jovit's family released an official statement on the passing of the singer. According his parents Mr. Hilario and Mrs. Cristeta Baldivino and Jovit's fiancé Camille Ann Miguel, Jovit has been taking hypertension medicines and recuperating for a week. He was earlier advised by his doctor to take a break from singing while recuperating.
The singer was invited by a family friend to visit a celebration in Batangas City. While there, Jovit gave in to the crowd's request that he sing them a few songs. He sang 3 songs, including Journey's "Faithfully". By the third song, Jovit was already out of breath.
He was advised to take a rest and after an hour of sitting, his face started to deform with saliva forming at his mouth. He was rushed to Nazareth of Jesus Hospital last December 3, 2022 around 10pm. Results of the CT scan showed a blood clot in the brain, a sign of aneurysm.
Jovit was comatosed for 5 days before his body gave up.
Baldivino’s wife also confirmed the sad news on Facebook with a a crying emoji and short message "Asawa ko." The post was filled with messages of condolences from netizens. Her Facebook stories were also filled with photos and tribute to Jovit.
Earlier, Camille lamented on Facebook the "fake news" spreading about Jovit. While she didn't specify which of the reports weren't true, she said spreading misinformation only worsens their situation.
