On Facebook, a video showing Cayetano and his wife Taguig Mayor-elect Lani Cayetano at a mall has gone viral with over 104,000 views since posting. In the video, a man who spotted Cayetano grabbed the chance to ask the politician about the P10K ‘ayuda’ he had earlier promised.

Cayetano was smiling as he and his wife were walking around a mall. The uploader can be heard calling Cayetano and saying, “Uy si ano, si ano, Cayetano. Sir, P10K ko sir. Sir, P10K.”

Cayetano brushed off the statement and continued to walk away followed by his bodyguards. The viral video that lasted 11 seconds has amused and entertained many netizens. It earned many comments about how disappointed they are of Cayetano’s “broken promise.”

A netizen wrote, “Hindi na tayo kilala ni Cayetano. Nakapuwesto sa senado lusaw na ang pangako 10k yan ang hunyango sa senado 10k bawat pamilyang pilipino.”

Cayetano, then Taguig-Pateros representative, proposed to give P10,000 financial aid to every Filipino family during the height of the pandemic in May 2021. He filed the P10K Ayuda Bill as he disagreed with the two rounds of P1,000 cash aid per Filipino under the proposed Bayanihan to Arise as One Act (Bayanihan 3). Unfortunately, the bill didn't receive enough support in Congress to pass.

“May consensus naman talaga ang buong Pilipinas na kailangan ng PHP10-K ayuda ng mga Pilipino at ito’y mabuti sa ekonomiya at ito ay mabuti sa pamilya.” Cayetano earlier said.

“Extraordinary times need extraordinary measures. Hindi po limos ang kailangan ng mga Pilipino sa ngayon,” he added.

A year since Cayetano filed the P10K Ayuda Bill, he said he’s still committed to fighting for the financial aid for every Filipino. He said now he is sitting in the Senate, there’s still a chance for it to happen.

He cited that Senate could pass Senator Joel Villanueva’s Senate Bill No. 2486 or the proposed Bangon Pamilyang Pilipino (BPP) Assistance Program Act of 2022, which adopts his proposed P10K Ayuda Bill.

Cayetano said, there’s still a “real need” for very Filipinos to receive “ayuda” as many are still suffering from the effects of the pandemic.

SIR 10k NAMIN! 🤣🤣🤣
