Philippines vs Thailand women’s volleyball SEA Games 2021

Thailand's women’s volleyball team has won every gold medal in the last 12 SEA Games. Meanwhile, the Philippines last won a gold in women’s volleyball back in 1993.

Bannered by Jaja Santiago and Alyssa Valdez, the Philippines hopes to continue the momentum against the Thais after defeating Malaysia in straight sets on Friday. The team had an impressive performance of 25-14, 25-20, 25-15.

UPDATE: Thailand sweep Philippines, 25-15, 25-13, 25-14.

Before coming to Vietnam, the Philippine team was trained for two weeks in Brazil.

Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia compete in a round-robin format to find four squads to compete in the semi-finals and the final.

Game time is set at 3 pm, Manila time.

Meanwhile, the Philippines men's volleyball team starts its bid for another medal after a silver finish in the 2019 SEA Games. They goes up against Cambodia. Game is ongoing as of press time.
