On Twitter, entertainment host MJ Felipe shared that Toni "voluntarily" stepped down from her role as the main host of PBB. According to the tweet, Toni didn't formally resign but endorsed the job to her co-host Bianca Gonzalez.

The tweet goes, "According to a reliable source, Toni Gonzaga will no longer host Pinoy Big Brother. No formal resignation but source said Toni has voluntarily endorsed the main hosting job to Bianca Gonzalez. Reached out to PBB and Toni, awaiting for their official statements."

Meanwhile, Toni confirmed the reports on her Instagram. She posted a photo of her lengthy message sending her love to all her fans and supporters. The news came just a day after Toni trended online for hosting the campaign rally of Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio at the Philippine Arena.

Toni introduced Marcos as the next president and Duterte-Carpio as the next vice president.

The host also introduced Rep. Rodante Marcoleta as a senatoriable. It can be recalled that Marcoleta was among those who pushed to deny the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.

“Representante ng Sagip party list. May laban tayo sa kanya. Number 43 sa balota. Congressman but soon to be Senator Rodante Marcoleta,” Gonzaga said in her introduction.

Toni's hosting stint at the political rally earned mixed reactions online. While there were those who supported the freedom to express political beliefs, there were also those who were dismayed with Toni's decision.

Some of Toni's co-workers couldn't help but share their disappointment over the actress-host's decision. Singer Sam Concepcion and comedian Alex Calleja talked about "delikadeza".

Business unit head of Pinoy Big Brother Raymund Dizon said it's disappointing to see how ABS-CBN employees support those who moved to close their network.

"Dati wala akong pakialam kung sino ang gusto ninyong suportahan pero ang suportahan ang taong nagpasara ng ABS-CBN ay sobrang dagok na lalo na kung sa ABS-CBN ka nagtatrabaho," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, PBB has issued its official statement saying they support Toni's decision to leave.
