Fire hits Starmall Alabang

MANILA, Philippines – Fire hit a shopping mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City early Saturday morning, January 8.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) confirmed that the affected establishment is Starmall.


According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Muntinlupa, the blaze started past 3 a.m., then the second alarm was raised at 4:03 a.m.

The third alarm was declared at 4:49 a.m.

It has reached Task Force Alpha, a level that requires several firetrucks to respond, at 7:58 a.m.

As of 9:10 a.m., reported fire alarm still in Task Force Alpha.

Firemen and volunteers have joined hands to help put out the fire.

No injuries and casualties have been reported so far.

Authorities are investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
