MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck Batangas on Monday afternoon, December 13, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said it traced the epicenter of the earthquake 24 kilometers southwest of Calatagan, Batangas. It had a depth of 99 kilometers.
The earthquake, recorded at 05:12:19 PM, was of tectonic origin.
Some parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces like Laguna, Bulacan and Rizal also experienced tremors.
Phivolcs added that while no damage is expected, there may be aftershocks.

Intensity III - Quezon City
Intensity II - San Felipe, Zambales
