LOOK: Celebs wear pink in support of Robredo's presidential bid

MANILA, Philippines – Following Vice President Leni Robredo's announcement that she will run as president in the 2022 elections, celebrities posted their pink photos to show their support.

Several celebrities showed their solidarity in support of Robredo's presidential bid on Thursday. On their respective social media accounts, celebrities posted their photos wearing Robredo's campaign color, pink. Among those who posted pink photos were Angel Locsin, K Brosas, Jim Paredes, Gab Pangilinan, Enchong Dee, DJ JaiHo, Jolina Magdangal and more.

The hashtag #LabanLeni2022 also trended on social media as Robredo supporters were pleased and excited with her final announcement. Her supporters called their campaign the "pink wave" as they flooded social media with photos of the color pink.

Comedienne K wrote on Twitter "LetLeniLead" while DJ Chacha celebrated by also sharing a photo of herself wearing pink with the caption, "Happy Pink Day." DJ JaiHo also promoted his "President" on Instagram, she wrote, "My President Leni Robredo."


Rica Peralejo also posted a video of herself skipping rope while wearing pink to show support. She wrote, "Gusto mo bang sumama? #LabanLeni2022 #LundagforLeni."


Agot Isidro, a staunch supporter of Robredo also posted a photo of herself wearing pink lipstick with the question, "Handa na ba kayo?"


"Rooting for Leni Robredo in this coming election. Let’s paint the country pink," another netizen wrote.

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, who has long been convincing Robredo to run also expressed his support. He also announced his decision to seek a senatorial seat. He tweeted, "I am so honored to run as Senator under the slate of our next President @lenirobredo. #LabanLeni2022."

Earlier, the Vice President said she is determined to run to help the Filipinos free themselves from our current situation. "Buong-buo ang loob ko ngayon: Kailangan nating palayain ang sarili mula sa kasalukuyang situwasyon. Lalaban ako; lalaban tayo. Inihahain ko ang aking sarili bilang kandidato sa pagkapangulo sa halalan ng 2022," she said.
