MANILA, Philippines – A young man from San Pedro, Laguna, who was fond of playing Mobile Legends, reportedly died due to sleep deprivation from excessive gaming, according to a family member.
In a viral Facebook post, Cami Rosario claimed that her brother Trunks Rosario, who was in good health, suddenly experienced a headache and was not able to stand.
The next day, the family noticed that Trunks was no longer in the right state of mind.
Seeing the abrupt change in Trunks’ health condition, the family decided to rush him to the hospital. Reportedly, the young gamer tested negative for COVID-19. Since there were no medical findings on Trunks’ condition, the family opted to take him home as the young man was already exhausted.
Despite the family’s efforts to help Trunks recover, the young gamer’s health condition kept getting worse. Trunks allegedly experienced trouble breathing before dying in front of his entire family on Thursday, June 27.
Although medical experts have not yet confirmed Trunks’ real cause of death, prolonged sleep deprivation can cause a number of health problems such as memory issues, mood changes, trouble with thinking and concentrating, weakened immunity, increased blood pressure, risk for diabetes and heart diseases, weight gain and increased risk for premature death.
