MANILA, Philippines – Drivers and delivery-partners of Grab Philippines now have free access to new learning and development opportunities through GrabAcademy online platform.

Developed by Microsoft, Grab Academy aims to support the long-term success of drivers and delivery-partners by enhancing their skills and helping them become competitive in the digital-first economy.

GrabAcademy equips drivers, delivery-partners

“Our GrabAcademy is a clear expression of our long-term commitment to the development and wellbeing of our partners - both within and beyond our platform, and we are blessed and excited to be with Microsoft on this journey. Through this partnership, we hope to deliver these programs that will provide more holistic training support for our partners to help them become more competitive in a digital-first Philippines,” Grab Philippines Country Head Grace Vera Cruz said.

The training academy has three learning pillars: Safety across the platform (food safety and road safety courses); Growing within the platform (performance and service quality courses); and Thriving beyond the platform (entrepreneurship, farming, baking as well as milktea-making). Courses on topics such as vehicle sanitation and taxation are also included.

Furthermore, Grab Philippines intends to offer a range of vocational courses through future partnerships with local government units and agencies.

“Alongside the adoption of technology, we have to empower the individuals within our workforces and communities with the skills and knowledge they need today, and tomorrow. We’re excited to join hands with Grab Philippines in this effort, which will be the first of many more programs to drive positive outcomes and economic recovery for the Philippines,” Microsoft Philippines Country Manager Andres Ortola explained.

Drivers and deliver-partners can access Grab Academy through the Grab app and will receive a Certificate of Completion upon completion of the courses.
