Magnitude 5.4 earthquake shakes Luzon, Metro Manila on October 17, 2020

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported a magnitude 5.4 earthquake that shook parts of Luzon and Metro Manila early Saturday, October 17, 2020.

The exact time of occurrence was recorded at 04:06 AM with epicenter near Looc, Occidental Mindoro.

The earthquake that occurred has a tectonic origin with 33 km depth of focus.

The strong quake was felt at Intensity IV in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro and Tagaytay City.

Intensity III in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro; Muntinlupa City; Makati City; Quezon City.

Intensity II in Marikina City; Malabon City; Meycauayan City, Bulacan; Floridablanca, Pampanga.
