Family unexpectedly receives gifts from mom who died 4 years ago

MANILA, Philippines – Their mother died 4 years ago but a family received unexpected gifts from her after they found the letters that she left for them, hidden inside her clothes.

Tim Salonga shared some photos of the incredible surprise they received from their mother, even if she died 4 years ago.

According to Tim, it was during their Ate Heka’s birthday that they discovered the hidden surprise. The family had a little get-together last September 23 to celebrate the birthday. While celebrating, their titas suggested that they look at old photo albums to reminisce about the old times.

Seeing their late mom in the pictures, Heka suggested that their titas bring home the rest of their late mom’s old clothes. While checking on the clothes, they were puzzled to see one blouse wrapped inside two others.

Upon close inspection, the blouse had something on both pockets. Imagine their surprise when they opened the pockets to see a letter, some money, and several pieces of jewelry.

“Para sa pag aaral ni Tim, Hazel, Herica ang perang ito. Gagamitin nila ito sa pang negosyo nila at paramihin nila ang konting pamana kong ito sakanila at may 3 singsing ito at isang pares ng ikaw (hikaw). Paunlarin niyo ang konting pamana ko sainyo. Salamat mga anak. Mama,” the letter read.

At the back of the letter is a note that something is hidden inside her old sewing machine.

“Tinago ko ito sa makina sa ilalim nya. Kung sino man ang nakakita nito ay ibigay nyo sa mga anak ko. Wag nyong kunin ang hindi para sa inyo,” the note further read.

Upon checking, they found more money and a passbook.

The family was greatly surprised over the money and gifts they received from their late mom. According to Tim, they had already disposed of most of her old clothes and had even wanted to sell the old sewing machine to a junk shop. It was a good thing they kept these items.

But it is quite timely, too, that they would discover the items after 4 years, now that there’s a pandemic and finances are tight.
