Ted Failon leaves ABS-CBN

MANILA, Philippines – Multi-awarded broadcast journalist Ted Failon is leaving ABS-CBN after 30 years, the Kapamilya Network said in a statement on Sunday, August 30.


Failon will make his final appearance on “TV Patrol” and “Failon Ngayon sa TeleRadyo” on Monday, August 31.

"The closure of ABS-CBN’s radio broadcast operations led to his painful decision and we respect it," ABS-CBN said.

"We admire Ted's talent, passion, and commitment to radio as his most effective medium in serving the Filipino people.

"We thank Ted for his many years of dedication and service as a Kapamilya broadcast journalist. He will always be a Kapamilya. We wish him well on his journey," the statement added.

Ted Failon is reportedly transferring to TV5's radio station Radyo5. Sources said he will bring his radio show "Failon Ngayon" as well as all of his staff to the other network.

Other ABS-CBN radio hosts have also left the network following the denial of 25-year franchise by the House of Representatives.

Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja transferred to dzRH while Vic Lima will be hosting a weekly morning show on dwIZ.
