MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's 5th State of the Nation Address (SONA) full text or transcript is expected to be translated in Filipino language as delivered Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.

FULL TEXT: The 2020 State of the Nation Address SONA speech

Known as "President's Report to the People", the full text of the 2020 SONA will be posted immediately online after he has spoken in front of limited number guests at the Plenary Hall.

In his 2016 SONA and in the previous administrations, the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) translated the speech in Filipino and Visayan versions.

The annual ceremony is expected to start at 3:30 p.m. with the arrival of the president. Duterte's speech delivery is around 4:00 p.m.

Due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the penultimate SONA of the president will focus on recovery plans and policies that are much needed at this time, especially in balancing the health sector preparedness and opening more economic activities.
