He brought his family along, but recently lost the job after getting sick. Tatay Crisanto felt pain all over his body, hampering his ability to work. So, he lost his job.

Sadly, his wife left him when he got sick. With two children, ages 2 and 8, to care for and also not feeling well, Tatay Crisanto decided that it was best for them to go back home. But after riding a bus bound for home, they had to get off at the town of Santo Tomas, just some 20km away from Talisay because their money was only enough for the fare to that town.

With no one else to turn to, Tatay Crisanto and his children walked. It was lucky that they passed by Brgy. San Nicolas whose officials took notice of their plight. They were given food and a place to rest after the barangay officials learned that they had not eaten. The barangay officials were also able to provide them with a ride home.
