Identified as Fr. Fidel, the priest touched everyone’s hearts as he gave the wisest advice to the newlyweds and their respective parents. Without mincing words but still managing to make his homily sound polite, Fr. Fidel told the couple that their parents are not really 100% happy about them getting married but will support them anyway and have accepted their decision. Still, he told the young couple that though their parents should always remain important in their lives, their spouse is now more important.

Fidel said.

Still, the couple should also not forget that the have become who they are today due to the sacrifices of their parents.

“Kaya ngayon, kayo ay kayo. Kaya may kasal ngayon. Fidel added.

But the priest also prepared advice for the parents. Due to the marriage, each of the parents gained a new son or daughter. According to Fr. Fidel, they should not take sides when the younger couples fight because the two are now their children and should be treated equally.

Going back to the young couple, he told them that before they start their own families they should first thank and pay respect to their parents. The two did so, crying as they hugged their parents. Then, the priest told the parents to be friends and accept each other as their children’s co-parents!

Everyone felt the priest’s powerful words. Here’s the tear-jerking video:
