MANILA, Philippines – Edging out the competition by garnering 62.11 percent of votes, Vanjoss Bayaban was hailed as grand champion of “The Voice Kids 2019” on Sunday at Resorts World Manila.
As Grand Champion of the fourth season of reality singing show, Vanjoss brings home Php 2 million, a house and lot, a recording contract and other prizes.
Here’s his winning piece:
Impressive performance
Vanjoss began his journey on The Voice Kids with an amazing rendition of “My Love Will See You Through” that made all the coaches turn their chairs.
“Sisirain mo ba yung speakers dito?” Coach Bamboo joked.

The young boy chose to be in Team Sarah where he would later compete with two others in the Battle Rounds. Sarah had a difficult time deciding among her singers but would ultimately pick Vanjoss over Jay Rome Sevillejo and Renz Aleguiojo after the trio performed “Anytime You Need A Friend”.
Here’s the trio’s performance at the Battle Rounds:
In the semi-finals, Vanjoss sang “Makita Kang Muli” which earned him a spot in the Grand Finals.
But his “You Raise Me Up” in the Grand Finals truly impressed netizens who voted for him, garnering him 62.11 percent of votes and edging out Carmelle Collado and Cyd Pangca with 24.74 percent and 13.15 percent, respectively.
Bringing his OFW mom home
The young man has won the hearts of many netizens, not just with his impressive performance even right from the Blind Auditions, but also because he plans to win so he could bring his OFW mom home. Just like many OFW children, Vanjoss hoped to spend more time with his mother and wished they had money so she wouldn’t have to leave the country again.
With Vanjoss’ impressive win, his mother doesn’t have to work abroad anymore. And if they manage their finances right, they would certainly be set up for good, a lot of netizens noted.
