The new license ID has a more simple, minimalist look opting for a plain white background. It still bears the same owner's information and details as the old one, except that the birth date and the date of last renewal were removed.

According to PRC, the changes were made in accordance with a policy ordering government agencies to simplify their forms and processes.

The PRC's statement reads, "The Professional Regulation Commission informs the public of the new content, format, and layout of the Professional Identification Card (PIC), effective September 2019."

"This is in consonance with the policy of government to promote ease of doing business by simplifying the documentary forms and processes which include the PIC, and in compliance with the requirements of Republic Act No. 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012."
