Jollibee warms hearts with ad about ‘kuripot’ grandma who’s full of love

MANILA, Philippines – A new Jollibee ad has once again warmed hearts as it features a ‘kuripot’ (stingy) grandmother who might be miserly with her money and does not even buy a lot for herself, but is so full of love for her grandchildren.
In the ad, the old lady is so stingy that she would not waste a single cent. Even if it makes her back ache, she would pick up even the smallest coin. She would even ask for the exact change and refuses to back down if the cashier is short, even for 25 cents.

Sometimes, her frugal ways would embarrass her grandson, Kyle. For example, even when the jeep is nearly empty and Kyle was already quite big, she would let him sit on her lap so they could save on fare. Instead of paying for two, she only pays for one because Kyle shared a seat with her.

And while her stingy ways would often leave everyone scratching their heads, she refuses to back down. She saves up every single coin she receives as change or pick up from the street.

She might like something like a sandal for herself, but too often she doesn’t buy it because she feels that the purchase would just be waste of money.

But even though this grandma might be too ‘kuripot’, she is so generous with her love towards her grandson. She might not pass up a single cent, but she readily treats her grandson at Jollibee; of course, she does not forget to use her senior citizen card for a discount.

And though she does not spend a lot of money on herself, she would not mind splurging on her beloved grandson – just like what a lot of grandparents do!
