MANILA, Philippines – Classes have been suspended in several areas today, July 30, 2019 (Tuesday) due to inclement weather situation brought by the southwest monsoon rains (Habagat).

In the 4:00 am bulletin, weather bureau PAGASA said that Southwest Monsoon is affecting the western section of Luzon particularly on these areas: Pangasinan, Bataan and Zambales.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

CENTRAL LUZON
  • Bataan - all levels, public and private
  • Iba, Zambales - all levels, public and private
  • Masinloc, Zambales - all levels, public and private
  • Olongapo City - preschool to senior high school, public and private
  • Palauig, Zambales - all levels, public and private
  • Subic, Zambales - all levels, public and private
  • Angeles City, Pampanga - preschool to senior high school, public and private
  • San Antonio, Zambales - preschool to senior high school, public and private

SOUTH LUZON
  • Cavite - all levels, public and private

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, La Union, Benguet, Cavite, Batangas and the rest of Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.

According to the automatic class suspension guideline by DepEd, the local government units (LGUs) have the authority to declare local suspensions in areas where there is no storm signal.
