Philip Galit who calls himself as ‘Shadow Ace’ showcased a unique “hand shadow” performance that delighted the judges and studio audience of the show.

When asked by judge David Foster how he discovered his talent, Shadow Ace admitted that it was something he would do to pass the time and have fun as they experience frequent brownouts at his hometown.

As he performed his audition piece, many people were greatly impressed by his nimble fingers and how he was able to create a story using just his hands and the shadow they make on the screen.

“It’s a silly little thing, I guess, to play with your hands and make figures like that. But, I tell you, I forgot that they were hands. They were people to me!” Foster exclaimed.

Judge Jay Park also agrees with Foster, pointing out that he was best impressed by the pole-dancing and hula hoop portions of the performance. Park said this was the best shadow act he has seen by far on the show.

“I’m glad that you are on this show, really. I loved that performance,” Judge Anggun said.

The young man introduced his parents to everyone – and they had been with him all along!

Foster said he was glad Shadow Ace’s parents were there to witness the voting process in person because he has a feeling this would go really well; then, he voted “yes”.

But even before Anggun or Park could put in their vote (and those are most likely “yes”, too), hosts Alan Wong and Justin Bratton ran to the judges’ table to press the Golden Buzzer! The two made a little show of making their fingers ‘walk’ to the buzzer before pressing it together.

The Golden Buzzer takes Shadow Ace directly to the semifinals. Congratulations!
