DepEd begins releasing 2017 PBB to 7 regional offices

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Education shared some good news to our teachers. Seven (7) regional offices have started releasing the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 to school-based personnel.

Starting today, February 14, the following DepEd offices will be releasing the incentive to their personnel:

  • Regions IV-A (CALABARZON)
  • Region IV-B (MIMAROPA)
  • Region V
  • Region VII
  • Region XI
  • Region XII
  • National Capital Region (NCR)

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Central Office gave assurances that they are now working to release the incentives of the other regions.

The DBM said that they already endorsed the processing and release of funds for Regions I, II, VIII, IX, X, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) to the respective DBM Regional Offices.

The DBM is also processing the release of incentives for regions VI and XIII (CARAGA).

The PBB is “a top-up incentive given to personnel of bureaus or delivery unit in accordance to their contribution to the accomplishment of their department’s overall targets and commitments.”

According to DepEd's “Guidelines on the Grant of Performance-Based Bonus for the Department of Education Employees and Officials for Fiscal Year 2017,” the 2017 PBB is consists of the PEI and PBB.

Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) is across the board bonus equivalent on P5,000 to all qualified government personnel.

Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) is a top-up bonus equivalent to a percentage of the employee's monthly basic salary in accordance with their contribution to the accomplishments of the department's overall targets and commitments.
