In a country like the Philippines where there are many poor people, education is truly the key to success as having a college degree often makes a big difference when it comes to finding a good-paying job.

While not everyone is born in a family who could easily send them to college, a lot of students have found a way to support themselves by doing some sideline business or becoming a working student.

In Baguio City, a young student of the University of the Cordilleras recently went viral for his determination to be in school. Identified as Jonel M. Tejedo, the student is taking up Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management.

Born in a poor family, Jonel knew he had to also help his parents if he wanted to finish his studies as they could not afford to send him to school. Thus, even back when he was still in high school, Jonel already sold chicharon, balut, itlog ng pugo, and other items to earn money.
