MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino shared that after losing over 15 pounds and medical test in Singapore, it's confirmed that she is suffering from Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria.
On Instagram, Kris opened up about her current battle with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) and how it has affected her life. She wrote about her fears stating, “I am now, and for the rest of my existence will be, on high dosage antihistamines and having the EpiPen will always be crucial. Severe allergies are life threatening because of anaphylactic shock.”
Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) is an autoimmune skin disease that affects around 1.8% of the world's population. Urticaria, also known as hives is characterized by red, swollen and itchy marks on the body. It is one of the more persistent type as it shows symptoms of urticaria for 6 weeks or more.
The host and TV personality admitted that they were worried that it was lupus, which leads to kidney failures. International Pop Star Selena Gomez's had undergone a kidney transplant last year after years of battling lupus.
Kris said, "Kuya Josh was anxious and confused. Bimb knew Selena's journey. It was heartbreaking to see my 11 year old crying inconsolable tears and pleading, 'please don't leave me mama.' Bimb even offered me his kidney.”
After recently admitting that she filed a legal case against a friend who allegedly duped her with millions worth of money, Kris admitted that health is still wealth. She said, “Ang pera magsipag ako, kikitain ulit pero hindi po mabibili ang extension sa buhay.”
Kris went on to thank all her avid followers and supporters saying, “you know my life's journey. Thank you for being with me through tears and victories.”
