MANILA, Philippines – Classes have been suspended in several areas on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 due to inclement weather and flooding brought by southwest monsoon.

From 5:00 pm today until 5:00 am tomorrow (Tuesday), PAGASA said that Zambales, Bataan, Cavite and Batangas will experience monsoon rains while Metro Manila and the rest of Central Luzon will have occasional rains.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected over Laguna, Rizal and Quezon. Light to strong winds blowing from southwest will prevail and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

A new Low Pressure Area (LPA) was spotted at 1,495 km East of Central Luzon (Outside PAR). This system may develop into a Tropical Depression in the next 24 to 48 hours, the weather central said.

Meanwhile, cancellation of classes in the tertiary level especially in the private institutions will be at discretion of school administrators.
