'Bagyong Inday' PAGASA weather update July 20, 2018

MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon or habagat enhanced by 'Bagyong Inday' will continue to bring heavy rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon on Friday, July 20, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

In its 4:00 am advisory, PAGASA said Tropical Storm 'Inday' was estimated based on all available data at 995 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (22.5 N, 131.3 E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 105 km/h.

'Bagyong Inday' is moving Northwest at 15 km/h.

Weather central warned of monsoon rains, possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate to at times heavy rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bataan, Zambales, Batanes, and Babuyan Group of Island.

Meanwhile, occasional rains with possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate to at times heavy rains was alerted over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over Visayas and Mindanao.

Inday, the third tropical cyclone to enter the country this month, has caused floods and forced the suspension of classes in some areas.

The weather disturbance is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday morning, July 21.
