MANILA, Philippines - San Miguel Alab Pilipinas and Mono Vampire are on a collision course in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) Finals, beginning Sunday, April 22, airing live from the Sta. Rosa Multi-purpose Complex in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Alab and Mono Vampire prevailed over the two best teams in the elimination rounds, defending champions Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions and new kids on the block, Chong Son Kung Fu, to set up the Finals duel.

World imports Justin Brownlee and Renaldo Balkman have been huge for the Philippine franchise since coming on board when Alab was floundering near the bottom of the rankings with a 1-4 start. With the popular American and Puerto Rican in tow, head coach Jimmy Alapag’s squad blasted off to eight straight wins, the most for any ABL team this season, before taking down the defending champions Hong Kong in dominating fashion in the ABL Semifinals.
Aside from Brownlee and Balkman, Alab will rely on reigning ABL MVP Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. as well as bench sparks Lo Domingo and Pao Javelona to have a fighting chance against Mono Vampire, which disposed mighty Chong Son Kung Fu yesterday (April 18), 83-80.
The Thai team will be relying on world imports Mike Singletary, the towering Sam Deguara, and Fil-Am guard Jason Brickman and former UE Red Lion Paul Zamar when they go up against San Miguel Alab Pilipinas.
Games 1 and 2 will be played here in the Philippines before action shifts to Thailand for Games 3 and 4, with the fifth and deciding game to be fought back on Philippine soil.
