WATCH: “Disney World” of the Philippines lays abandoned now

Did you know that there’s a medieval theme park situated in Lemery, Batangas that would seemingly take you to the set of the hit TV series ‘Game of Thrones’?

“Fantasy” World has recently gained online fame after it was featured on video by YouTube star Cody Buffinton of Exploring with Cody. Built in 2001 by a Japanese businessman, the theme park was once designed to compete with Disney World. It was constructed on a hill overlooking the countryside of Batangas and features the breathtaking views of Taal Lake.

However, when the businessman started having financial troubles, he was left without a choice but to abandon construction.

More than a decade after it was left, Fantasy World still looks fascinating with its medieval themed castle with vast empty rooms, unfinished enchanted rides, and perfectly maintained lawns. It still has a large central fountain that spates water as if it has an audience to amuse.

Sadly, Fantasy World never opened its gates to the public. But now, the theme park, which is maintained by a homeowner’s association, can be accessed by visitors by paying a guard.

A timeworn treehouse enveloped by vines on its spiral staircase is one of Fantasy World’s highlight.

Cody, who uploaded the video titled “Abandoned Disney World of the Philippines” claims Fantasy World is one of the most unique and fascinating places he’s ever been to.

Luckily, Cody was able to capture the beauty of the place and share it with netizens.

Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna, Star City in Manila, and Sky Ranch in Tagaytay are among the major amusement parks in the Philippines. But with the discovery of Fantasy World, netizens are hoping that an investor would be interested in renovating and reopening the park.

Can you imagine how Fantasy World would look like if it had been finished?
