2 Filipino YouTube creators get Gold Play Button Award at FanFest 2017

MANILA, Philippines - The country's most-subscribed YouTube channels were recognized during the kick-off event for the third FanFest in the Philippines on Friday, May 12. Creators Ranz Kyle and Kaycee and Rachel received the most coveted Gold Play Button Award for amassing one million subscribers on their respective channels.

Ranz, a member of the popular teen group "Chicser," gained strong following on the video-sharing site by showcasing his talent like skits, vlogs, dance covers and tutorials since 2008. His most popular dance videos feature his siter Niana and include the Salt Bae dance and the Chainsmokers' "Closer." His channel now has over 167 views and among the world's fastest growing channels worldwide this year. He hit the 1 million mark this year and quickly closing in on 1.5 M subscribers.

Meanwhile, siblings Kaycee and Rachel won the hearts of kids around the world with their KAYCEE & RACHEL in WONDERLAND YouTube channel, which features skits and kid-friendly challenges from eating spicy ramen to cracking eggs on their heads. Their channel also feature reviews of toys and when they are not playing, they're busy singing along to their fave songs on YouTube.

Ranz and Kaycee & Rachel join other YouTube creators, Fliptop Battles and Kids Toys in the distinction of being Filipino Gold Button awardees.

Those who have hit the 100,000-mark are awarded the Silver Button. Past awardees in the Philippines include Wil Dasovich, Daniel Marsh, Haley Dasovich, Janina Vela, Pamela Swing, Purple Heiress, Real Asian Beauty, Say Tioco, That's Bella and Zendee Tenerefe. On average, two Filipino channels have crossed the 100K mark every week this year.
