PHOTOS: Twin quakes damage houses, church in Batangas

MANILA, Philippines - Strong earthquakes with magnitude 5.6 and 6.0 damaged several houses and properties in Batangas on Saturday, April 8.
The quake was also felt in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (CALABARZON), parts of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (MIMAROPA) and Metro Manila around 3:07 and 3:09 p.m.
Batangas Governor Hermilando "Dodo" Mandanas said 5 houses were destroyed by the earthquake in Brgy. Majuben, Mabini and new damages were observed in Taal Basilica.

Quakes cause power outages in Southern Luzon
In Laguna, Sta. Cruz, Los BaƱos and Calamba City experienced power outage although the supply returned around 4 p.m, Inquirer has reported.
The provincial government has yet to issue a statement on the total amount of damage to infrastructures.
