In the nearly-two minute video posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, April 13, Binay highlighted the alleged killings through death squad in Davao headed by Duterte.

The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) presidential bet added that if we will let Duterte rule the country, we may suffer worse than the Martial Law.

Some netizens say Binay's video titled "Right To Life," which amassed more than 1 million views as of press time, is only a desperate move and a way to catch up standing for the presidential race.

On Tuesday, Pulse Asia announced that Duterte has overtaken consistent front-runner Grace Poe in the pre-electoral survey conducted from March 29 – April 3.

If the May 2016 elections were held during the survey period, 30% of Filipino registered voters would elect Duterte as the country’s next president.

Poe has been relegated to second place (25%) while Binay and former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Manuel A. Roxas II find themselves statistically tied for third place (20% and 19%, respectively).

Duterte's camp speaks up

Duterte’s spokesperson Peter Laviña, said Binay’s act was “unbecoming of the second highest public official of the land.”

“There is no truth to what he is saying. Instead of throwing mud at his rivals, our unsolicited advise to the VP is to squarely answer issues against him on corruption,” Laviña told GMA News Online.

The Davao City mayor had promised if elected president, he will end criminality in three to six months period.

“As President, madali ‘yan. Sabi ko nga in three to six months tapos lahat ‘yan. I am willing to stake my honor, my position and my life. Three to six months, malinis itong bayan na ‘to, pati yang cartel-cartel na ‘yan,” he said.

The Davao mayor also denied allegations that he was involved in extrajudicial killings.
