LGUs announce class suspensions for Thursday, July 9, 2015 | #WalangPasok

MANILA, Philippines - Local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila and on nearby provinces announced class suspensions for tomorrow, July 9, 2015 (Thursday) due to the effects of Typhoon 'Falcon' and Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) in the country. The advisories were released through social media Wednesday night.

PAGASA on its 5:00pm update today said that the eye of Typhoon “Falcon” was located based on all available data at 1,065 km East of Basco, Batanes (20.6°N, 132.2°E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.

'Falcon' is forecast to move West Northwest at 20 kph. Meanwhile, the Southwest monsoon (Habagat) is now affecting Luzon and Western Visayas.

Monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over the regions of Ilocos, CORDILLERA, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON and MIMAROPA.

Occasional rains are expected on Western and Central Visayas. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.
