Comelec announces final, official election results for 2013 Senate polls

Manila, Philippines - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday announces the official and final Senate election results for the May 2013 national poll.

Final tally of votes became available in less than a month after the May 13 national elections. The National Board of Canvassers (NBoc) is the main body of the government that served for the canvassing of votes and early proclamation of wining senatorial candidates.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez on his blog said that the latest resolution of the National Board of Canvassers [0010-13] declares that, “while there are still remaining uncanvassed votes, the same will no longer affect the ranking of the winning candidates for Senator of the Republic of the Philippines.”

The Resolution was signed by all seven Commissioners.

As per Comelec, the ranking on the final tally did not changed. The body proclaimed new senators who will be part of the 16th Congress last May 15, 16 and 18, 2013.
