LTE for All’ is now a reality as wireless leader and Long Term Evolution (LTE) pioneer Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) on Friday, April 19, 2013 introduces the Philippines’ first and only prepaid LTE service.

Smart unveils Philippines first Prepaid LTE

“If you have always wanted to try out the fastest wireless broadband technology in the world but are not keen on subscribing to a postpaid service, Smart prepaid LTE is just the ticket,” said Smart Broadband and Data Internet Service Head Lloyd Manaloto.

For as low as P350 for a SIM-only kit, anyone with an LTE-enabled mobile Internet devices can instantly enjoy connection speeds of up to 42Mbps with Smart’s ultrafast LTE network.

“Our SIM-only product comes in different sizes to cater to the latest LTE-capable devices. We have the Nano SIM, as well as the dual-cut SIM for LTE devices that require micro or regular SIMS,” Manaloto said.

For laptop and other device users, meanwhile, Smart prepaid LTE is also available with a bundled USB Plug-It for P5,995 or an LTE Pocket WiFi device for P6,995.

Both offers are pre-loaded with an LTE 299 package which is good for 7 days of unlimited LTE use.

How to apply unlimited Smart Prepaid LTE

“Because Smart LTE is now on prepaid, we are making LTE accessible to more Filipinos,” said Manaloto. “We are no longer just providing data access for all, we are now providing world class LTE access for everybody,” he added.

Launched in August 2012, Smart LTE is the first and most widely-available LTE service. With over 800 LTE sites, Smart LTE is present in 46 cities and 69 municipalities nationwide and is backed by the Philippines’ most extensive fiber optic network.

With 54,000kms of fiber optic cables (FOCs), Smart, together with parent company PLDT, makes possible the delivery of trillions of bytes of data, literally at the speed of light.

Unlike legacy copper wiring which uses electrical signals to transmit data, FOCs use beams of light to send a “pulse” from one end to another.

The cable itself has no known limits and is considered by experts worldwide as a true future-proof technology.

“Smart has four times more fiber than the competition, allowing you to experience the fastest 4G technology,” Manaloto said.

Smart LTE is also available on postpaid at LTE Broadband Plans 1299, 1749, and 3500. The service can be enjoyed on an unlimited basis.
