The huge wreath was shaped the same way as the ones that people buy for funeral wakes, with a huge ring of white flowers set on a stand, white roses, and a large ribbon placed at the center.

“Patay na patay for Atty. Mary Zoelli R. Velasco,” the red ribbon read.

Thinking it was a creepy threat, the guards at an office would not let the delivery men enter because with the funeral wreath. It caused commotion at the entrance, before things got sorted out and the funeral wreath revealed to be a prank that Velasco’s boyfriend played on his unsuspecting girlfriend.

Velasco’s colleague, Atty. Kenneth Manuel, was among those who had a good laugh over the prank. He snapped some photos which would quickly go viral.

“The guards in our office would not let the delivery men come in with the wreath, thinking it was a creepy threat. Eventually it was placed inside her office, and everyone, including her, is in a cheerful mood,” Manuel revealed.

It was a good thing that Velasco easily accepted the prank and didn’t freak out, but her colleagues and a lot of netizens are wondering whether she would actually bring the creepy wreath home.

But was she even angry, one least bit, for the “patay na patay” funeral wreath?

“I am very flattered that my boyfriend took a creative route this Valentine's Day,” she said.

In response, she had a photo taken with the wreath, holding out a sign written on a bond paper, “Patay na patay ka rin sa akin!” LOL. What would be your response if you received a Valentine’s Day bouquet like this?
