Pacquiao just showed why he is not just a boxing champ but a People's Champ. After his recent win against Keith Thurman, Pacquiao decided to share some "balato" to the people of Barangay Spring, Alabel, Sarangani Province last Saturday.

The people of Barangay Spring had a big surprise when Pacquiao suddenly arrived and started handing out P1,000. People fell in love to greet the People's Champ and thanked him for his generosity.

David Sisson, one of Pacquiao's staff shared the video of the surprise visit. He said the boxer supposedly didn't want any media to know of his kind gesture.

Sisson said, "He just thought of going there. He did not inform the media. He just wanted to visit the Pacman village and gave out P1,000 for the adults and P500 for the kids."

Lola Maxima Quirante, one of those who received P1,000 from Pacquiao, was beyond thankful she now has money to buy rice.

She recalled, "May bata kasi dito tumakbo sa amin, sabi niya andiyan si Pacman, namimigay ng pera."

"Kaya ayon takbuhan kami lahat at nagpila talaga. Nabigyan ako P1,000, binili ko kaagad ng bigas. Salamat talaga kay Senator Manny, nakabili ako ng bigas," Aling Maxima said.

Sisson revealed more than 600 people received money from Pacquiao.

He added, "Not just the Pacman villagers. There are times that along the highway, he would stop by a tricycle driver or a jeepney driver. He talks to them and then give out some cash."

It has been a tradition of the eight-division world boxing champion to hand out "balato."
Whenever he wins a fight, people from General Santos City and nearby provinces would wait in line outside their mansion's gate to receive cash.

Back in 2017, shortly after his fight with Jeff Horn, Pacquiao was seen in a video handing out "balato." He smiled and said, "This is why I still fight."
