Crisalyn Moreno from Uson, Masbate shared that she had been scolding her son for some time now because he often goes back home with his soup bowl still clean. Before he goes to school, she gives him Php10 for soup but he returns home with the bowl clean, leading her to believe that the kid had been using the money to buy junk food.

A respectful kid, the boy did not talk back to explain what he had been doing with the money; he just accepted his mother’s scolding.

One day, Crisalyn got curious about what her son had been up to with his money. So, she asked him to be honest about how he spent his money – and she was rather shocked over his response.

The kid went to his closet to get something from a bag. It was wrapped in a small cloth. The kid explained that this was actually the money he had saved up from his food allowance. Most of the time, he did not eat or buy his soup because he wanted to save money to get his eye checked.

According to Crisalyn, the kid had always wanted to undergo a check-up as he wished to see with both eyes again, but the family did not have money.

Moreover, the boy often shared his dream of finding a good job so he could buy a car for his father and provide a better for his parents in the future. But with just one eye, the kid felt that he would not be able to do it; thus, he wanted to get the eye checked.
