After the passing of his wife, Pepita “Aling Pitang” in 2013, he cannot also help but feel lonely. When Mang Cris would miss his wife, he would ask his daughter Mayette to accompany him to the cemetery.

It was Mayette who shared Mang Cris’ story on Facebook. The dutiful daughter dropped her work and errands to accommodate his father’s request. Mayette shared that if he turned down the request, his father would “It's either he won't eat, won't talk to me or both.”

When he arrived at the cemetery, Mang Cris became emotional upon seeing that garbage has piled up around his loving wife’s grave. Mayette described her father, “He was in tears I could only comfort him as I clean around.”

Mang Cris told Mayette, “Sabi ko sau Marita tinatawag ako ng Nanay mo, ayaw mo lang maniwala."

And Mang Cris came prepared, he had his “Aling Pitang visit care bag” with water to clean the ’lapida’. He lit some candles and bought flowers.

And as if it wasn’t enough, Mang Cris kept on talking to his beloved wife. He said, "Nandito na kami. Nilinis ko na. ‘Wag ka ng mag alala at hindi ko hahayaang hindi ka mapuntahan kapag nararamdaman kong kailangan mo ako."

Mayette was at lost for words upon seeing his father’s undying love for his mother who had long left them. She said, “Love comes in many forms. My father has chosen to keep all the love in his heart. He knows love is not bounded by time nor distance. Love speaks from the heart.”

The grateful father also looked at his daughter and thanked her for taking the time for him. Mang Cris told Mayette, “Salamat, Marita ha? Mangyari, nawala ang lungkot ko. Pasensya ka na kung naabala kita ha? Nagalit ba ang kliyente mo? Sabihin mo sa kanya, maraming salamat.”

Mang Cris even went on to ask his daughter that when the time comes he too joins Aling Pitang, may Mayette still visit him. He said, “Pagdating ng araw hindi na kita iistorbohin, Marita. Andito na rin ako. Linisin mo kapag hindi ka abala. Laanan mo ng panahon."

Mayette couldn’t contain her tears as she hugged and whispered to her father, "Kailanman ay hindi ka istorbo, Tay. Hindi abala. Hindi singit. Hindi extra. Ikaw po ay mahalaga. Isa ka sa pinakamahalaga.”

The touching but also heartbreaking story of love has touched the hearts of many. In times when we kept on joking “walang forever”, there are people like Mang Cris who shows us that love knows no bounds. The post has gone viral with over 70,000 shares.
