MANILA, Philippines – A woman sought the help of Twitter to find her childhood friend. Amazingly, she was able to find the other woman in less than 24 hours!

The incredible story began when Brianna of Mississippi posted on Twitter to seek help in finding the girl in the photo with her as a child, taken during a dinner cruise. She had forgotten the girl’s name but since they were practically best friends at the time, she wished to be reunited with the girl and perhaps meet her again, now that they are adults.

“Hey Twitter, I met this girl on a dinner cruise in Hawaii in 2006. We were basically best friends for that night so I need y’all to help me find my best friend cause I miss her and I need to see how she’s doing now. Please retweet this so we can be reunited,” Brianna tweeted.

That night, she fell asleep with the post getting just 9 retweets. She did not really expect much from the post, considering that she only had a picture and couldn’t even remember the other girl’s name or where she was from.

It was like trying to find a very small needle in a giant haystack.

The next morning, however, Brianna was shocked to discover that the post had been liked and retweeted tens of thousands of times! At the end of the day, it had over 270k likes and more than 115k retweets. It also had hundreds of comments.

But more amazingly, one of these comments was made by a girl named Heii. To prove that she was the girl who was on that cruise and was Brianna’s long-lost childhood friend, she posted a photo of herself holding a snapshot of her family taken from the cruise.

“Heard you were looking for me,” Heii commented just a few hours after Brianna’s tweeted their photo.

“It's been literal years since I was last on Twitter and the first thing I see is a search party for my a*s.”

It’s not surprising that both girls are excited to meet each other in person again.

But now that she found her childhood friend via Twitter in less than 24 hours, Brianna posted another mission as a joke: to ask Twitter to find her a husband as well…
