In a statement released on Saturday, GMA Network's Senior Vice President and Entertainment Group Head Lilybeth Rasonable said that she wishes the Asia's Songbird well in her future endeavors outside the Kapuso Network.

“After two decades, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has officially said her goodbyes to the Kapuso Network. We understand her decision to join her husband and we wish her well as she pursues other opportunities outside GMA Network."

The singer-actress also announced her departure during the sixth anniversary celebration of cooking talk show Sarap Diva on Saturday.


While it is not yet officially revealed if Regine will transfer to the Kapamilya Network, ABS-CBN said they are excited to welcome Regine as a “special guest for the highly anticipated TFC event” in Sydney, Australia.

Regine will be joining other ABS-CBN stars in ASAP show including her husband, Ogie Alcasid who joined the Kapamilya Network back in 2016. Regine also confirmed the news on her Instagram page, “See you guys in Sydney. #ASAPinSydney," she captioned her post.

During the ABS-CBN Ball, rumors of Regine’s transfer became stronger as she posed with ABS-CBN executives and even with former GMA stars who transferred to ABS-CBN Jaya, Janno Gibbs, Richard Gutierrez.

Once she signed as Kapamilya, Regine is expected to host a few ABS-CBN shows including being a judge on The Voice Philippines alongside Sharon Cuneta, Bamboo and Lea Salonga.
