Friends hilariously step in for guy whose parents couldn’t make it to Graduation Day

Graduation Day is one of the most important milestones in a person’s life, especially if it is graduation from college. Of course, parents wouldn’t miss this day!

But one student made the mistake of telling his parents the wrong graduation date – and they ended up missing his big day. Then, his two best friends stepped in as his ‘parents’ for a graduation photo shoot that would soon make waves on social media.

Chris graduated from the University of West England (UWE). Some months ago, Chris told his parents that he would be graduating sometime in October or November; thus, when they planned their vacation, they chose July, thinking this was certainly within the ‘safe zone’ and quite far from the graduation date.

So, when the actual date was announced, they were all dismayed to discover that it was during the parents’ holiday.

Chris didn’t want his parents to miss their trip but he didn’t also want to attend the big day without them by his side. Upon hearing this, his friends decided to make him feel happy as they hilariously stepped in for his parents.

Chris’ friend Corey told UNILAD that he played the ‘dad’ in the photoshoot. They thought of dressing up the part, but in colorful holiday outfits in honor of Chris’ real dad and mom. Of course, since they didn’t want to hurt his parents’ feelings, they first asked permission and showed them the photos before posting these on social media.

The parents were rather amused by the photos, saying they absolutely loved the results of the photoshoot.

Because Chris didn’t chose not to attend the actual Graduation Day, his friends also made a ‘diploma’ out of a tissue roll wrapped in ribbon.

While his parents weren’t able to make it to his big day, Chris had a great time with the photoshoot and realized that he’s got real friends who are there for him, through thick and thin.
