What's the weather this New Year 2017? Here's the forecast

MANILA, Philippines - No tropical cyclone is expected to form or enter within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) from December 27 to January 2, 2017, weather bureau PAGASA announced on Monday.

Severe tropical storm Nina (Nock-ten) which roared a trail of destruction on Christmas Day in Bicol area and Souther Luzon, is expected to exit PAR on Tuesday night.

Here's the special weather outlook:

Today (December 27), the possible formation of a tail-end of a cold front will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over the Cagayan Valley, while the northeast monsoon (Amihan) will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the rest of Northern Luzon. Elsewhere, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced.

By Wednesday and Thursday (December 28 and 29), the tail-end of a cold front may bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will prevail over the rest of Northern and Central Luzon regions, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains. The rest of the country will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

By Friday (December 30), a trough extending from a Low Pressure Area (LPA) east of PAR will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Mindanao, while the northeast monsoon will continue to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the provinces in Northern and Central luzon. Elsewhere, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail, especially on the eastern section.

By Saturday and Sunday (December 31, 2016 and January 1, 2017), the trough of the LPA will continue to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over eastern Mindanao. The northeast monsoon may slightly weaken, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley regions. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, especially on the eastern section.

By Monday (January 2, 2017), the trough of the LPA will continue bringing cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over CARAGA, Davao region, and Soccsksargen. The northeast monsoon will continue bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley regions. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, especially on the eastern section.
