MANILA, Philippines - Due to continuous threat of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) in Luzon, some local government units (LGUs) announced suspension of classes for Thursday, August 18.

Based from the 24-hour weather forecast of PAGASA, monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Ilocos region and the provinces of Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac and Pampanga.

Weather central added that cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over the rest of the country.

No tropical cyclone is expected based on weekly weather outlook.

Based on automatic class suspension guideline, LGUs have the authority to declare local suspensions in areas where there is no storm signal.
